360 Video
Nebraska Public Media is documenting the Good Life in a new way. We are using 360 video across the state to tell stories from different perspectives and bring new learning experiences to Nebraskans. Produced using a collection of cameras with multiple wide-angle lenses, the separate footage is merged (or "stitched") together to create one spherical, high-resolution piece. Called immersive video, it puts the viewer in the middle of the shot.
When using 360-degree video on some mobile devices (iOS or older Android-powered phones/tablets), it requires the YouTube App for correct playback. When watching on your phone/tablet – move your device in all directions or "spin" the video with your finger to take a better look around. On a desktop, a browser like Chrome or Firefox works best. Safari currently does *not* support 360 video. Use your cursor (or finger if you have a touchscreen) to move your perspective up/down, left/right or tilted directions. To enhance the immersive experience of 360 video even further, a virtual reality headset like Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR, Google Daydream or similar can be made or purchased.
